Larry Joe Neikirk, 58, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024, at the home of his sister, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 11, 1965, in Mount Carmel, the son of Larry Neikirk and Molly (Couch) Helton.
Joe worked for several years as a carpenter. He loved the outdoors and wildlife. He was an avid deer hunter, bass fisherman, and enjoyed all types of sport shooting. He was a member of the Lancaster Church of Christ and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Joe leaves behind two sons, Jesse (Brittany) Neikirk, Joezy Neikirk; one daughter, Brittany Swift; five grandsons, Keagan, Jayce and Jett Swift, Dane and Jax Neikirk; his father, Larry (Darlene) Neikirk; mother, Molly Helton; one brother, Mark (Amy) Neikirk; three sisters, Lisa (David) Berry, Sherri (Jeff) Keepes, Amy (Chuck) Kingsbury; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents.
