Cynthia Small
Cynthia Small, 67, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 15, 1956, in Kirkwood, Missouri, the daughter of Kenneth Edwin and Regina Marie (Drone) Schimp. She married Jeffrey Small on June 18, 1997, and they have celebrated twenty-seven years focused on their family.
Cindy moved to Mount Carmel from Eldorado, Illinois in 1978. She was a special education teacher for thirty-plus years in School District 348. Cindy took an active role with her students and cared deeply for each one. She was involved in endless activities and hobbies, but most important to her was her family, with her grandchildren being the center of her world. In her spare time, Cindy's creativeness and talents shined through in her crafting and Stampin' Up creations. Taking family getaways to Orange Beach was her favorite happy place. Cindy was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was a very loving wife
