Nellie May Bobbitt, 90, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Oakview Nursing and Rehab, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 30, 1934, in Decker Chapel, Indiana, the daughter of Cyril and Lottie (Carson) Williams. She married Reverend Marlin Bobbitt, who preceded her in death on April 28, 1975.
Nellie was of Christian faith and a member of Union Mission Congregational Church. She enjoyed watching sports and was a dedicated Indiana Hoosier and St. Louis Cardinal Fan. She enjoyed riding around on country roads. Nellie was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, whose presence will be dearly missed.
Nellie leaves behind her children, Marlin (Judy) Bobbitt, Rick (Linda) Bobbitt, Tim (Brenda) Bobbitt, Dan (Sherry) Bobbitt, Marla (Marcus) Wormack, and Kelly Swanson; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; brother, Nick Williams; sisters, Carmi Howder, Sherry Hedge; several loved nieces and nephews.
