Shirley M. Bobbitt, 70, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at home surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on November 15, 1954 in Streator, Illinois, the daughter of Lawrence M. and Juanita (Voyles) Whalen. Shirley married Edward Bobbitt on December 11, 1971 and together they enjoyed fifty-three years of marriage.
Shirley cherished family gatherings, finding great joy in spending time with her loved ones. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart and she enjoyed keeping up with all their activities. Shirley had a passion for collecting Boyd's Bears, which added a unique touch to her home and reflected her warm, sentimental nature. She will be missed by her family and all who knew her.
